New YOW Surf 2019 collection with SGV4
Like every year, YOW Surf renews its collection of surfskates, and develops new shapes of boards that adapt more and more to the demands, styles, tastes and suggestions of surfers from all over the world.
All the new models in the new collection come with the new V Twist System . 4 ( S.G.V.4 ) . The most recent of the brand, more reactive, more robust and more durable.
For the 2019 collection they have developed 27 different table models , almost all of them unpublished, and which cover endless possibilities. Long boards, short boards, fish tail, round tail, hard wheels, some softer. You will surely find a model that suits your taste and surfing style.
So that you can choose your ideal surfskate, it is important that you keep in mind that the smaller the board, the more nervous it will be , and the longer it will transmit more sensations of water longbard, and a wider pump and turns.
You should also consider the separation between your legs. If you really want to improve your surfing , it is important that you have the same position on your surfskate as you would on your surfboard, so the transfer will be as real as possible.
By this logic, the taller you are, the longer your board should be. So that you have a reference of the size of the board that suits you best , we recommend that you carry out the exercise of placing an open tape measure on the ground, stand on it with your feet apart as you would on a surfboard, (usually with the legs a little more open than the shoulders) and note that fact.
Next comes choosing the dock. The YOW Surf surfskate turning system comes with two different spring thicknesses : one of 4mm and one of 5mm. The first one is designed for people who weigh less than 50 kg, or those riders who are looking for a board that is a little more nervous. And the 5mm is indicated for people who weigh more than 50 kg, or for riders looking for a little more stability.
The wheels. You should ask yourself where and how you will use your surfskate the most so that you can choose between the two different wheel types . The straight profile, soft 78A , ideal for long runs, for smoother pumping and greater displacement; and one with a beveled profile, harder than 82A , ideal for the skatepark or for a more nervous pump.
And with these data: the size, the spring and the wheels, you only have to decide which table design you like and that meets these requirements . The shape of the board does not influence handling as it does with a surfboard, it is only a matter of aesthetics.
If you see that in the new YOW Surf collection there are some surfskates cheaper than others, it is not an error, it is their most economical range "The First". 4 more basic models, with the same SGV4 as the others, but with different trucks, wheels and grip. A more basic version, but with very similar sensations to the other boards.
We take advantage of this blog to present you the video that YOW Surf uploaded yesterday, of a specific board model, and that we just took it to the last surfskate meetup that we did in Madrid and it was very popular among the tallest and the longest. It's the Bayron Bay , a very wide 38" board with a cork top, ideal for going barefoot, dancing and even a good Hang Ten.
You no longer have an excuse to get a YOW Surf surfskate , choose the one that best suits your weight, height, surfing style, budget and go out and have fun and improve your surfing.
Remember that if you don't get a maneuver or you want to improve your pumping you can consult our Surfskate Tutorials , or contact us and we will try to guide you in the best possible way.
